Eatfresh Review | Food Delivery | Bangalore

Every day is a new beginning—for better or for worse. Some people try to realize their visions and dreams while at the same time there are cases where everything falls apart like a house of cards.

On a different note, nowadays almost every day is a birthday for a start up. We recently came across a food tech start up with a very good name: eatfresh! We were privileged to try some of their dishes and we were pretty satisfied with their services except for one particular case.

They operate on a full delivery model and their dishes are prepared by qualified chefs who are alumnus of big hotel chains across the country.

They deliver on time and also entertain requests for different delivery timings. Their packaging is great and they deliver the food hot at your doorstep!

Now coming down to our order:

We tried Chicken with Honey and Asparagus, Paneer Pasanda with Corn Pulao and Honey Chicken Bell Pepper with Black Pepper Fried Rice for main course, Chocolate Mousse for dessert and their lemon mint cooler.

To be honest their coolers are the best. We found the lemon mint cooler to be refreshing and it had a great balance of sweetness, the flavour of lemon and mint of course. It is a light and soothing drink which is perfect for the hot summer and best served chilled!

We also tried the honey and basil cooler which was wonderful. We were skeptical at first about how it would taste but we were very impressed with the outcome! There was an essence of honey throughout, it was not too sweet and had a delicate fragrance.

We found their main dishes to be quite pocket-friendly and they had adequate quantity as well.

Hard Rock Cafe Review | Bangalore

Hard Rock Cafe Review | Bangalore, Foodie land blog

Sometimes, more than the food the ambiance and the environment matters more and provides an experience worth remembering. Of course if it is combined with good food then the experience reaches a whole new level.
We have been to places like Soho ST, The Black Pearl and Jhaal Farezi which have a splendid ambiance indeed. But this time we were looking for a different kind of environment, related to music.

Air Asia India's NEW Inflight Menu

We went on our first blogger‘s meet a while back and I have to say that we started with something great! We were invited by Air Asia to try their new IN-FLIGHT Menu. Both of us woke up early and left for the airport, all excited and a wee bit nervous.

But, I have to say that the Team of Air Asia was very warm and welcoming which made me really comfortable! The Food Bloggers we met on that day were even more welcoming and friendly! This proves that people who love food have a big heart!

Soho St. Review | Koramangala

Soho St. Review, Koramangala, Bangalore

Bangalore offered us a great climate from the very beginning but when it came to food the offering was even better!

We have tried out many fine dining restaurants, but one fine day I was in the mood to HOG (:P). I persuaded Priyanjana as well. The plan was to attack any restaurant which was offering a buffet. We had a light breakfast and we were on the hunt. With the help of our best friend Zomato, we discovered this place located just near to The Forum Mall in Koramangala. We enquired about the menu and it sounded pretty impressive.

Thus, we decided to go forward with our plan! We entered into the restaurant and the ambiance left us stupefied!
The space was huge and the tables were very well spaced and organised, topped with fine dim lighting and in the centre one can actually see the food being prepared!

The first 5 minutes was a big thumbs up! Next we were served and greeted by a very decent, well behaved and courteous waiter. After this we decided “Bring It On!!”

So, the feast started:

The opener was a mint mojito! The best we had had in a long time ! Every sip of it seemed to tickle our taste buds and increase our urge to gorge :P. Along with the mojito came the starters. The pictures give only an indication of how awesome they were but believe me, the taste was unparalleled!

There was the shredded chicken kebab, mutton kebab, prawn kebab and the fish kebab. All the four preparations were so tasty, that we actually lost count of how many times we asked them to serve! (They definitely thought they shouldn’t have allowed us in the first place ;)). The chicken and the mutton had a smoky flavour, whereas the prawns and the fish were a little sweet, thanks to honey I guess. But nonetheless, it rocked!

But wait, I forgot! There was more!—chicken Banjara kebab, fish tikka and chicken tengri kebabs!! Oh the joy, the bliss, the excitement and we behaved like absolute gluttons!

You think it is done?? Think again ;)
Prawn, Lamb and Chicken momo’s! The white one was prawn, the yellow one chicken and the red one was lamb! Even writing this down makes me want to go there again, seriously!

Now, the starters are almost done, just a couple more :D
This one is my favourite, but many might not like it—crab meat sushi! Along with this there were little bite sized chicken shawarma rolls, which we both didn’t like very much.

I wish I had 1 more mojito, but too much greed is bad right!

*There were 2 counters as well*-- Live pasta and Kolkata rolls counter! We customized our pasta, with loads of mushrooms, baby corn and black olives, but there was nothing special about it. You can get that anywhere! The Kolkata rolls had too much mustard in them and the taste was not good at all! I do not like wasting food, but I had to waste half of the roll.

Now, the main course and the desserts:  The main course included mutton rogan josh,  , chicken biriyani, and a preparation of fish. We did not have much on the main course, but we tasted everything and they were good but nothing special.

Desserts were like the starters: variety, colourful and tasty.

Gulab jamuns, Baskin and Robbins ice cream, caramel pudding, mixed fruit custard, brownies, fresh cut fruits, litchi pastry and pineapple pastry.

The gulab jamuns were fresh, soft and delicious. B&R ice cream is B&R ice cream :P. The pudding was equally good. It was smooth and without any lumps. The brownies were iced and with chocolate sauce and it was pure bliss of course! I had as many brownies as my age I guess :D. Finally, the pastries were good, but there is nothing special to mention about them.

Overall the best items were:
1)      The Momos
2)     Chicken Glass noodles soup ( I am not a big fan of soups but Priyanjana had around 4 bowls of soup with different types of bread)
3)      The kebab starters(all of them)
4)      The tengri kebab
5)      The Mojito
6)      The Sushi
7)      Mutton rogan josh and the fish main course
8)      Brownies, gulab jamuns and the pudding.

The experience was just amazing with all the lovely varieties of food, the cosy ambiance and the excellent grade of service. Summing up, We had a lot of buffets in the past—BarBQ nation, flame n grills and others, but SOHO ST, stands out because of the variety of dishes and the peculiar but mouth watering taste of its dishes.

Now time for the marks :-

Food - 4.5/5
Quantity - C'mon, it was a Buffet!
Ambiance - 4/5 ( They said they have live music, but they didn't )
Service - 5/5
Cleanliness - 5/5

Hope this review will inspire a true foodie :P! Cheers! And of course, Bon Apetit!

Smoke - The Sizzler House Review | Koramangala

SMOKE - The sizzler house review , Koramangala 7th Block

After leaving Kolkata and the famous sizzlers at Peter Cat behind along with the city, I was quite sure That I would Not get a place in Bangalore to have as good sizzlers as in Peter cat!

Then suddenly when I was roaming around with my roommate a few days back in the Koramangala 7th block  area to visit the stand alone store of Himalaya, I saw this quaint looking yet modern restaurant right opposite to the Himalaya store.

I knew I wouldn't have to put much effort in convincing Rudra to come here for lunch and likewise as soon as I mentioned the word "Sizzlers" he jumped up at the opportunity of visiting a restaurant in Bangalore , that specializes in sizzlers.
They also serve pasta, salads and sandwiches.

We kept our lunch short as we both were not profoundly hungry {and trust me when we are, you will be able to see loads of dishes being reviewed here! }

So we had Corn and cheese bombs ( 125 INR ) for starters and ordered our respective sizzlers.

To be honest I was quite skeptical and curious to see what they have in store when they mentioned pasta in a sizzler.

Two Way Sizzler Variant - Chicken variant
Grilled Fish Sizzler
I ordered the Grilled Fish Sizzler (275 INR ) and Rudra Ordered the Two way sizzler with two types of pasta (289 INR).

Now First let me point out the disappointments about the food -

1. Both the sizzlers had a same type of template, same veggies and everything. A plus here and a minus there according to the particular sizzler would have been much better.

2. My sizzler was mostly rice and slightly dry at that, when it was supposed to be buttered rice ( I had to literally make my self believe there was butter in it). No problems there , but if the platter was properly spaced instead of the template and making a heap in between with the rice it would have been much easier to eat.

3. The chicken in the Two way sizzler was almost non existent as Rudra hardly found a few small chicken strips in his whole platter. My fish was slightly overcooked and hence was dry and rubbery!

Now let's see what I liked about the food:-

Quantity - Have to say we were impressed with the quantity, except for the few strips of chicken.

Sizzle - You know your sizzler is coming if you hear the sizzling sound and that was very much present.

Taste - I loved the black pepper sauce with the fish and rice and the pasta , both the variants, tasted pretty good. Both of us loooved the Corn & Cheese Bombs!

Presentation - It was good if not great but for a restaurant of this price range , it was pretty good!

Now it's time for scoring-

Food - 3.5
Quantity - 4.25
Ambiance - 4.75 ( We liked the down to earth , rustic ambiance! Do check out their lights!)
Service - 4.5 ( Quick service , but had to keep asking for water etc)
Cleanliness - 4.5

I would have to say that my search is still on for a sizzler equivalent to that of Peter Cat!

If you know a place with awesome sizzlers do let us know at foodielandblog@gmail.com
